5 Key Innovations Made to the Blogosphere This Month

So far, Triberr has imported close to one million blog posts, and has handled the sharing of 10 million tweets. And the “10 million” doesn’t even include posts that are shared via other social channels like Facebook, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon and G+.

This month we’re introducing 5 Key Innovations into the blogosphere. 4 are directly tied into the new version of Triberr plugin, and 1 has been long time coming and much needed.

Much of this innovation is against the law. We’re not supposed to do this and I know many will criticize us over it, but I don’t care.

Our mandate has always been to solve big problems for little bloggers. And these innovations are for them. The big bloggers and large media hubs can take care of themselves.

1. Frictionless Guest Blogging (aka reBlog function)

reBlog allows bloggers to syndicate their content to other blogs.

Newspapers have been doing this for 100s of years. An article written in a NY paper could be syndicated to a paper in Chicago.

Everybody wins in this scenario. The author gains wider exposure, newspaper gets fresh content, and Chicago audience gets to read an article they couldn’t read otherwise.

So, HOW do you reBlog an article? Easy,

Your tribemates who have installed the plugin will be easily identified in your Tribal Stream with the red “read” flag. Like so.

You can click on the post’s headline to open the article right inside your Tribal Stream. Like so.

From here, you can click to Comment (I’ll talk about that in the next section), read the post at the original location, reBlog, and Approve for sharing.

Why didn’t someone else think of reBlog before?

They kinda did…Tumblr has something similar. But small bloggers running self-hosted WordPress blogs are basically left out in the dust.

None the less, there are still 1 and a half issues with this concept as it pertains to the blogosphere.

The “half issue” is proper attribution. We’ve solved this by embedding the author bio and social links into the article itself. Issue solved.

I call this a “half issue” only because if the publisher really wanted to give proper attribution for the article they could. It may not be easy, but it can be done. We only made it streamlined, easy, and something publishers don’t even have to think about.

The real issue is that if you’re really lucky, your article may get republished on 50 blogs. And in this social web, the success of your article becomes your downfall.

How do you engage with comments across 50 blogs?

This is the second key innovation we’ve introduced with the Triberr Plugin.

2. Triberr Global Comment System

Triberr comment system does something NO OTHER comment system can do.

If a post has been published on 50 blogs, Triberr comment system will replicate all comments to ALL 50 blogs. But that’s not all. All comments –from across all 50 blogs- are also replicated and visible inside your Tribal Stream.

So the author (or anyone else) can open the article inside their Tribal Stream and respond to comments regardless on which one of the 50 blogs the comment was made. Like so.

3. Floating Comment System

In terms of technology, it may not sound like much. But in terms of functionality, I LOVE this feature.

How many times do you read a long(er) post and somewhere in the beginning you think of a perfect comment to the first or second paragraph. But, by the time you get to the end you forget what you were gonna say and find yourself re-reading the article from the beginning?

I don’t know about you, but it happens to me ALL THE TIME.

Floating Comment System allows you to make a comment anywhere in the post as you read it. Simply click on “Comment” button and the window pops up allowing you to make a comment right then and there. Like so.

The Floating Comments get replicated to the bottom and to all blogs where your post has been published. Sweet 🙂

4. Pinterest Integration

Last but not least, we will be adding a Pinterest Pin It button to the list of available buttons inside the post window.

This will enable you to pin your tribemate’s posts to your Pinterest account.

If you’re not familiar with Pinterest, or you’re wondering how bloggers can take advantage of this hot, new social network, to drive traffic, engagement, build an audience, and even make money, then don’t worry about a thing. I have just the solution.

How to Pinterest for bloggers webinar coming on Tuesday, March 20th, at 11:30AM EST.

Details to follow, but basically, weeks worth of research about Pinterest has been collected, and will be shared with you in this 2 hours long webinar.

One hour (maybe little more) will be dedicated to presenting vast amounts of collected information and showing bloggers how best to leverage Pinterest, followed by 30-40 minute long Q&A session. With few surprises for good measure.

This will be a paid webinar that you’ll be able to spend your Bones on with a steep discount for Triberr members.

5. Triberr Blogger Certification Program

NO ONE can accuse us of lacking ambition.

Increasingly, companies are looking to hire bloggers to write for a company blog. There isn’t a lot that a traditional corporation has to go on when going through this process. I mean, how can a corporation be sure a blogger meats at least a minimum set of requirements needed, to be the public voice of the corporation?

Now, let me be clear. Blogosphere is a wondrous place exactly because there are no rules, authorities, and “standards”. And as a human, I am staunchly opposed to any kind of rule that tells me I have to do it “this way” or “that way”.

Triberr Blogger Certification Program will only help companies make better decisions as to which candidate might be best suited to navigate the turbulent waters of the social web.

Also, I see blogging as a “9 to 5 kind of profession” an emerging industry and many displaced workers should have some way of showing their credentials. And this is where Triberr Blogger Certification Program steps in.

Why are we uniquely suited to pull this off?

I’ve spend 7 years of my Network Engineering career immersed in professional training, education, and certification. Like Blogging, the Information Technology (IT) industry is relatively young, and lacks traditional education paths.

I see Blogging as a profession in exactly the same place where IT industry was sometime in the 1980s. A wild, wild, west kind of place; and if corporations are to step into this space and hire bloggers, these corps will need some assurances in order to feel comfortable. We will offer that comfort thought the Triberr Blogger Certification Program.

Like I said, no one can accuse us of lacking ambition.

One on One Press Conference

Why can’t bloggers change the blogosphere from the bottom up? I say they can, and we will.

These innovations will bring about seismic changes. They will give ALL bloggers inexhaustible supply of guest posts, stronger engagement than ever before, and the possibility of the greatest distribution and proliferation of content than was previously available.

And if you care to share these innovations with your audience, I’m prepared to talk to you about it. My skype handle is dino.dogan, and I’ve carved out time over the next few days to chat about this stuff, one-on-one, press conference style.
