Facebook Trick: How to Customize Tag Links in Status Updates! [NEW]

There is a new Facebook “Trick” that allows you to completely edit the text of an @TAG mentioning either a Facebook Page or an actual Facebook User.  The example below shows how I used this trick to create clickable links in my status update that would send you to my employees Facebook Profiles.

Before you can do one of these fun tags, you must get the Facebook ID of either the Page or Profile.  You can do this by going to the Page or Profile you wish to tag & replacing “www.” with “graph.” & hitting enter.

You will then be taken to a ‘behind-the-scenes’ Facebook Page that looks like the image below, which allows you to easily cut & paste the “id” of that Page or Profile.  * Please note, if the Page or Profile does not have a vanity URL, this method will not work because the ID will already be in the URL itself.

Once you have the ID, the rest is pretty easy if you can handle cut & paste 🙂

The Code —> @@[0:[130481540298673:0:Click Here to Check Out ____ on Facebook!]]

Cut & Paste the code above into a status update (either on your personal page or business page) & edit both the ID & Text areas as shown in the example below. *** Don’t forget to make the edits! ***

Your finished product should look something  the example below.  Also, if you find this new trick either fun or useful, please hit the LIKE button on this article (should be to your left).  Thanks!
