Can Facebook Get You a Job? (Infographic)

The traditional referral from professional or personal contacts is still the most common way jobs are found. With the rise of professional social networking sites (LinkedIn now public), job seekers and employers are turning to social media as a resource to find employment.

According to this infographic created by MBA Online, over 18 million Americans credit Facebook (preparing to go public) for landing them their current job, which is greater than the population of New York City and Los Angeles put together. Nearly 70% of job seekers under the age of 40 have used Twitter for searching employment and in the last year, 1 in 4 of all job hunters used Twitter as a resource. Nine out of ten seekers have a profile on a social media site, are you (not) one of them?
