Misschien is het maar goed dat Samsung op IFA in Berlijn het spits afbeet met zijn slimme horloge Samsung Gear. Het geeft anderen de gelegenheid het concept te verbeteren. Al na enkele minuten kom je tot de conclusie dat Gear een stuk beter kan.

Just in time for the CES show, a major media outlet is spinning out a little business out of Twitter. The Associated Press today announced that it has inked a deal with Samsung for the consumer electronics giant to have two tweeting slots a day on the API’s main Twitter account (1.53 million users) for the five days the show runs, January 7-11.
Flipboard has just launched its social magazine app to support Android tablets, including the Nexus 10, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab line.
Flipboard is an app that aggregates your RSS info, social networks, etc. to create a beautiful, flippable magazine. In fact, the app won Best Touch Interface at the 2011 Crunchies. But making sure that interface creates the same experience across all platforms has proven tough, as Flipboard didn’t migrate over to Android at all until June of this year.

A curious thing happened during Chrome browser’s rise to being the most-used browser – an operating system was born. Perhaps that was the plan all along. One can never truly know with Google. What I do know is that when you’re on the go, especially with a laptop, the primary piece of software that everyone uses is the web browser, so why not build an operating system on top of it?
